Infection Prevention Specialist

Vhi is a leading healthcare provider seeking an experienced Infection Prevention and Control Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to join our team. As a specialist in infection prevention, you will play a vital role in implementing a comprehensive standardised IPC service across our organisation.
**Responsibilities:**
- • Act as an accountable role model through the provision of professional leadership and demonstration of best practice in the area of IPC.
• Work as a key stakeholder and member of the IPC team providing expert advice and support to all members of both clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Work as part of the IPC team to ensure IPC annual program for H&W with identified goals are achieved.
• Provide and maintain a comprehensive, efficient, and effective IPC service by assessing, identifying, developing, implementing, and evaluating Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the role in line with national and international recommendations and guidance,
which will be reviewed and evaluated with line management quarterly to ensure performance delivery.
Requirements:
This role requires a Registered or eligible for registration in the General Nurse Division, with 5 years post registration experience, preferably in the specialty of infection prevention & control. You must also have a recognised post-registration nursing course - Higher Diploma or Post Grad course in Infection Control or be in pursuit of same. This higher Diploma has to be completed successfully within 3 years of commencing the IPC CNM2 post. Additionally, practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
