Role Purpose and Responsibilities

The Infection Prevention and Control Clinical Nurse Manager 2 plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of IPC principles and practices, as well as exceptional leadership and communication skills.

**Key Accountabilities:**
  • • To work as a key stakeholder and member of the IPC team, providing expert advice and support to all members of both clinical and non-clinical teams.
        • To work as part of the IPC team to ensure IPC annual program for H&W with identified goals are achieved.
        • To provide and maintain a comprehensive, efficient, and effective IPC service by assessing, identifying, developing, implementing, and evaluating Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the role in line with national and international recommendations and guidance.
        • To carry out the responsibilities of the role with cognisance of national and international best quality assured standards of care.
        • To manage service user care to ensure the highest professional standards using an evidence based, risk management approach.


Requirements and Qualifications:

This role requires a Registered or eligible for registration in the General Nurse Division, with 5 years post registration experience, preferably in the specialty of infection prevention & control. You must also have a recognised post-registration nursing course - Higher Diploma or Post Grad course in Infection Control or be in pursuit of same. This higher Diploma has to be completed successfully within 3 years of commencing the IPC CNM2 post.
