Opportunity Overview:

This role presents a compelling opportunity to lead our fire engineering team in Canada. We are seeking a seasoned Senior Code Consultant with expertise in building code consulting and fire safety engineering.

About the Role:

  • Technical Leadership: Lead projects, providing expert guidance on building code compliance and fire safety engineering practices.
  • Business Development: Cultivate relationships with clients, identifying opportunities for growth in fire engineering and building code compliance services.
  • Project Management: Oversee project delivery from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client expectations.
  • Alternative Solutions: Develop performance-based alternative solutions and facilitate their approval process.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff, contributing to their professional development and growth.

Requirements for Success:

  1. Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in building code compliance and developing performance-based alternative solutions, preferably in a consulting environment.
  2. Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in civil or mechanical engineering, architecture, or related fields; P.Eng. designation is preferred.
  3. Regulatory Knowledge: A deep understanding of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  4. Business Acumen: A strong ability to identify opportunities, build relationships with clients and authorities, and exercise sound judgment in project management.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at managing complex situations and resolving conflicts.
  6. Leadership Qualities: A proven track record of leading teams, managing projects, and achieving results in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

  1. The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  2. Potential sign-on bonus and relocation assistance may be available.
