Job Summary

The Interior Health Authority is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our dynamic team in 100 Mile House. This is a key role in providing support and services to individuals with serious mental health issues.

Responsibilities

• Function as a member of the larger Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) or Tertiary Mental Health Services multi-disciplinary care team.

• Provide assessment, treatment, case management, community support, and urgent response to clients who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life.

Intensive case management teams help clients with severe mental health and/or substance use concerns through team-based care coordination. Services may include substance use counselling & treatment services, housing assistance, primary care, and outreach.

About the Location

100 Mile House is a beautiful town surrounded by wetlands, ponds, and marshes. Guided walking tours are a popular attraction for visitors to the area. The town offers a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, canoeing, boating, and fishing in the summer, and backcountry skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dogsledding, and sleigh rides in the winter.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school of nursing.

• Two years' recent related MHSU experience in the assigned clinical area(s) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
