About the Role
Douglas College is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Student Assistant to support the Community Relations and Events team. The successful candidate will assist in planning and executing internal and external events, including collaborating with team members to brainstorm creative event concepts and elements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of events, including setup, promotion, and tear-down.
- Collaborate with team members to develop event concepts and elements.
- Contribute to the maintenance of event documents, including spreadsheets and volunteer forms.
- Assist with event promotion and communication.
- Provide onsite support, including working with volunteers and greeting guests.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Good interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working with others.
Eligibility Criteria
Douglas College students meeting the eligibility criteria will be given first preference. International students must have a valid Study Permit with the notation – "May accept employment on or off campus if meeting eligibility criteria as per R186 (F), (V) or (W). Must cease working if no longer meeting these criteria."
