About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Nursery Worker to join our team at Local Nursery Ltd. As a key member of our greenhouse team, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our nursery, ensuring the health and well-being of our plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plant Care: Assist in the daily care of plants, including watering, pruning, and fertilizing.
  • Greenhouse Maintenance: Help maintain a clean and organized greenhouse environment, including cleaning equipment and disposing of waste.
  • Task Assistance: Assist in tasks such as budding trees, greenhouse cleaning, and guiding growing shoots into optimal development positions.
  • Harvesting and Preparing: Assist in harvesting seedlings, mixing fertilizer, and preparing soils for planting.
  • Equipment Operation: Assist in operating garden tractors, irrigation pumps, and mechanical sprayers.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report signs of insect or disease damage and communicate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar field is an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to handle heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Transportation: Own transportation is required, as public transportation is not available.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Outdoor work in a greenhouse setting, with exposure to wet/damp and hot conditions.
  • Work Setting: Rural area with a large workload and attention to detail required.
