Local Nursery Ltd is seeking a reliable and skilled Nursery Worker to join our team. As a key member of our floriculture production team, you will be responsible for assisting in the growth and maintenance of plants, trees, and shrubs in our greenhouse and outdoor production areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Budding trees and guiding growing shoots into optimal development positions
  • Greenhouse cleaning and maintenance
  • Mixing fertilizer and preparing soils
  • Planting bulbs and seeds, potting and re-potting plants
  • Transplanting seedlings or rooted cuttings
  • Applying fertilizers and reporting signs of insect or disease damage
  • Assisting in grafting activities and digging up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs
  • Watering and tending to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
  • Cleaning work areas
Requirements:
  • Availability for shift or on-call work
  • Reliability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with attention to detail
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods
  • Previous experience in this field of employment is an asset
Work Environment:

The work environment is outdoors, with exposure to wet/damp and hot conditions. The work site is a rural area, and public transportation is not available. The ideal candidate will have their own transportation.

Language:

The primary language of work is English.
