About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our team at George Boyack, Complex Continuing Care. As an unregulated member of the interprofessional health care team, you will provide on-going client care and observe, monitor, and report on client status/condition.
This role requires delivering prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure, maintaining professional and ethical standards at all times, and being responsible for other related duties as required.
Program Summary
Complex Care is designed for frail seniors who require the care of an interdisciplinary team to maintain and improve quality of life in safe, comfortable, and supportive environments. Our program offers a mix of secured and unsecured units.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing direct care to clients, including observation, monitoring, and reporting of their status/condition
- Delivering prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure
- Maintaining professional and ethical standards at all times
- Being responsible for other related duties as required
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring, and repositioning of clients
- Active and current registration in the Alberta HCA Directory
Preferred Qualifications
- Related experience in a healthcare facility
- Program-specific training/experience
The salary for this position is estimated to be $20.77 - $26.02 per hour, based on a 41.20 hour workweek. We offer a dynamic work environment, opportunities for growth and development, and a comprehensive benefits package.
