About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team at Bright Finishing Ltd. As a Drywall Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring that our drywall installations meet the highest standards of quality and finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth and even finish.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and ensure a professional finish.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise and accurate fit.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure a sturdy and secure installation.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to achieve a smooth and even finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to ensure a strong and durable bond.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall finishing or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure high-quality finishes.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials and work at heights.
Work Setting
  • Various locations throughout the region.
Work Language
  • English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
Work Term
  • Permanent position with a regular schedule.
Hours
  • 30 hours per week with a regular schedule.
