Job Title: Drywall Taper

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our team at KHUS DRYWALL. As a Drywall Taper, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.

Work Environment

Our work site environment can be challenging, with exposure to heights, dust, heat, and outdoor conditions. However, we provide a safe and supportive work environment for all our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster
  • Clean and prepare surfaces
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
Physical Demands

The physical demands of this job include bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, and standing for extended periods. We require our employees to be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment
  • Ability to work in a hot environment
  • Ability to work outdoors
