Chief Internal Audit Officer

A challenging opportunity exists at the Academica Group for a seasoned Director, Support Services to join our team. This role reports directly to the President and Chief Financial Officer. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and oversight to internal audit activities.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in finance and management, with a strong background in risk-based audit planning and governance compliance. You will be expected to provide recommendations to the Audit Committee on a comprehensive internal audit plan, considering the effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability of our operational policies, governance, risk management, control processes, and practices.
This position requires strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. You will be responsible for building and maintaining internal and external relationships, as well as managing multiple projects and deliverables. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are preferred, however we do offer intercampus shuttles.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- University degree required
- Completion of a professional designation (e.g. CIA, CPA, CA) in good standing
- Minimum 10 years of finance experience and 5 years of management experience in an internal or external audit environment
- Experience in the post-secondary sector and management in a unionized environment considered assets
