Job Summary

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residence Facility Coordinator to join our team. As a key contact for all facility and security-related issues within UW Residences, this role provides initial assessment and coordination of daily operations, ensuring timely and efficient responses to work orders and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facility Management: Evaluate and assess facility issues, including safety and security concerns, and coordinate short-term and long-term solutions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Operations Management: Administer the department's work order system, track workflow, and analyze data to ensure services are completed in a timely manner.
  • Analysis and Planning: Plan cyclical tasks associated with maintenance processes, analyze trends, and make recommendations for preventative measures.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to stakeholders, respond to urgent facility issues, and ensure timely resolution of problems.
  • Fiscal Management: Ensure the residence facilities are well-preserved, coordinate replacements and repairs, and provide input to the budget for future considerations.
  • Safety and Security: Manage key-related functions, attend scheduled safety walks, and participate in the creation of emergency/security plans.
Qualifications
  • College Diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Valid class G driver's license with a good driving record; must be insurable.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience performing duties related to facility management, customer relations, record keeping, and purchasing.
  • Experience using work order systems, facilities maintenance, and operations management.
  • Working knowledge of the UW community and culture a definite asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
