Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse - Emergency

Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team in the Emergency department. As an RPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide culturally competent care to patients with complex care needs, assessing their condition and reporting changes to the care team.
  • Administer and document therapeutic interventions and medications according to policies and standards.
  • Act as a patient advocate and participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to create a world-class health experience for patients and their families.
Requirements:
  • Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Coronary Care Course 1 or commitment to completing within 1 year of date of hire.
  • Proven clinical experience with patient-focused care, including strong patient assessment, care planning, patient education, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Practical Nurse Diploma from an approved nursing program.
  • Membership in the Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO).
  • At least 1 year of recent nursing experience working as a Registered Practical Nurse in an acute care setting within the past 3 years.
