Senior Advisor, Communications and External Relations

Hawthorne Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Advisor, Communications and External Relations to lead impactful communication initiatives for Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC), a subsidiary of Medavie Health Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute external communications strategies to support EMC business objectives.
  2. Deliver and report on community engagement and impact activities.
  3. Oversee content creation for communications channels, including external communications, social media, and internal stakeholders.
  4. Collaborate with Medavie and EMC communications teams to manage brand and reputation.
  5. Provide strategic communication advice to business partners.
  6. Develop and report on key performance indicators for communications and audience engagement activities.
  7. Recommend best practices for communicating organizational change and innovation initiatives.
  8. Ensure external communication messages align with internal messages.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in strategic communications and a post-secondary education in Communications or Public Relations.
  2. Proven track record of delivering communications and audience engagement strategies in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Experience in developing community engagement strategies for diverse audiences.
  4. Ability to advise senior leaders and create approaches that address business demands.
  5. Exceptional written communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
  6. Strong interpersonal, project management, and relationship-building skills.
  7. Flexibility to work outside of normal hours and openness to occasional travel.
