Strategic Communications Specialist

Hawthorne Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Advisor, Communications and External Relations to lead impactful communication initiatives for Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC), a subsidiary of Medavie Health Services.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute external communications strategies to support EMC business objectives.
- Deliver and report on community engagement and impact activities.
- Oversee content creation for communications channels, including external communications, social media, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Medavie and EMC communications teams to manage brand and reputation.
- Provide strategic communication advice to business partners.
- Develop and report on key performance indicators for communications and audience engagement activities.
- Recommend best practices for communicating organizational change and innovation initiatives.
- Ensure external communication messages align with internal messages.
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in strategic communications and a post-secondary education in Communications or Public Relations.
- Proven track record of delivering communications and audience engagement strategies in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in developing community engagement strategies for diverse audiences.
- Ability to advise senior leaders and create approaches that address business demands.
- Exceptional written communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
- Strong interpersonal, project management, and relationship-building skills.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal hours and openness to occasional travel.
