We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Disability Support Specialist. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving their goals and becoming more independent in their community.
- Support individuals with personal care, housekeeping, and companionship, as well as developing specific skills and learning general living skills such as budgeting and meal planning.
- Provide support one-on-one or with others, promoting inclusion in community activities and linking individuals to community support services and employment coaching.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Grade 12 diploma or diploma in Disability Studies or related Social Sciences/Human Services.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license, suitable Driver's Abstract, proof of insurability, and own vehicle.
- First Aid/CPR, Restrictive Procedures, Abuse Protocols, and Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention certifications.
- Commitment to philosophies and principles of community-based living for individuals in service.
