About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our Float Pool team at Sault Area Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the Nursing Process and Standards of Nursing Practice.
- Provide health education to patients and families, promoting independence and self-care.
- Make clinical decisions, exercising judgment to ensure best possible nursing care is provided within available resources.
- Participate in the implementation and practice of a theory-based approach to nursing care, reflecting the Hospital's Mission Statements and Nursing Philosophy.
- Contribute to the development of Nursing and Unit objectives, ensuring alignment with hospital goals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Certificate of competency in Ontario.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency.
- Completion of educational requirements to practice at full scope.
- 2 years of medical nursing experience.
- Current certification in venipuncture (I.V. certification).
- Demonstrated clinical competency in the management and care of patients in the medical unit.
- Experience in the care of Oncology and Palliative patients.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment required for patient care.
- Ability to maintain successful working relationships and interact with people in a professional and reassuring manner.
