Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Recovery Room at Sault Area Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the provision of patient care in the Recovery Room, utilizing the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide health teaching to patients and their families, promoting health and wellness.
- Assist in planning corrective actions to ensure patient and staff safety, adhering to legislation, organizational, and departmental regulations, standards, and procedures related to occupational health and safety.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of competency in Ontario.
- Demonstrated competencies related to IV Therapy.
- Current ACLS competency, current within the last two years.
Experience:
- Knowledge and skill in all surgical specialties, including Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, ENT, and Oral Surgery.
Skills & Ability:
- Critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office software.
- Demonstrated clinical competency in the management of care for patients post-anesthetic.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education, with a focus on courses and conferences related to Peri-Anesthesia Nursing.
- Knowledge of National Association of Peri-Anesthetic Nurses of Canada (NAPANc) Standards.
- Ability to maintain successful working relationships and interact with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible, and reassuring manner.
