About the Job:


We are seeking a highly skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. The successful candidate will work under the direction of occupational therapists and physiotherapists to carry out established rehabilitative activities in both occupational therapy (OT) and physiotherapy (PT) scope of practices.



Responsibilities:



  • Support the team with duties such as receiving assignments, implementing lower risk interventions related to clinical aspects of OT/PT care plans, demonstrating and teaching activities, adapting devices to enable patients to maximize their potential for independence, providing functional direction to patients and family, assisting with practicing daily living skills.
  • Report relevant observations of patient progress and behaviors.
  • Provide direction to volunteers and organize equipment and supplies for activities, maintain inventory of supplies.


Requirements:



  • Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
