About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at Marcantonio Designs Limited. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the framing and installation of wood structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in accordance with building codes, using measuring tools and equipment
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Instruct and supervise apprentices, promoting a culture of excellence and safety
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including commercial and industrial environments
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment
  • Excellent physical stamina, with the ability to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Accurate and efficient, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results
Working Conditions
  • Public transportation is available for commuting to work sites
  • Work environment is physically demanding, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and handling heavy loads
