We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at RhynoCare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Responsibilities- Deliver Nursing Care: Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident's plan of care, within the scope of practice of an RPN.
- Utilize Sound Nursing Practice: Ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s), adhering to sound nursing practice principles.
- Ensure Timely Admissions and Transfers: Ensure timely and safe admissions for residents, including comprehensive orientation to the home and its services, as well as timely and safe transfers and discharges.
- Manage Medications and Supplies: Ensure the safekeeping and control of medications and narcotics, adhering to protocols on all assigned shifts.
- Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Nursing Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
- Education: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Registration and Certification: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses and current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer proficiency.
- First Aid and CPR: Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Deals with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
- Respect for Residents: Respects each resident as an individual, aware of their need for self-respect and privacy, and the right to share in decisions about their care.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes.
- Medical Clearance: Medical Clearance, including but not limited to TB tests.
- Criminal Record Check: Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Clear Criminal Record check.
