About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals to perform a wide range of nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies.

You will work closely with our team to ensure the quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation maintenance, meeting the standards of hospital accreditation, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and Health Canada.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification and Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Experience as a Radiation Safety Officer is considered an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
  • Able to adapt to changes or unusual circumstances in a way that promotes co-operation, teamwork, and minimizes disruption to the work environment
  • Must be able to establish a rapport with patients demonstrating courtesy, kindness, understanding, and professionalism at all times
  • Must be committed to practicing all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and demonstrate initiative in maintaining and expanding all related skills
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred

Hours

This is a permanent full-time position, with a biweekly schedule of 75 hours.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $39.96, as well as eligibility for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
