About the Role

The Senior Manager, Annual Giving oversees the annual donor portfolio, playing a pivotal role in building a robust pipeline of mass support through the execution of multi-channel fundraising campaigns and a comprehensive annual calendar of donor stewardship and engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement multi-channel annual donor campaigns, encompassing campaign planning, concept development, and ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Manage relationships with agencies, vendors, and stakeholders throughout the campaign lifecycle.
  • Support the Executive Director, Donor Response Marketing, in crafting a new multi-channel annual donor acquisition strategy, overseeing the annual mix of campaign tactics offering the strongest ROI for the annual program portfolio.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders to analyze fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives, identifying key insights and data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop and maintain sustainable, scalable CRM data management processes related to annual donor fundraising operations, including campaign data management and documentation of donor communication preferences.
  • Work with the Mission and Marketing Communications teams to source relevant, impactful content for multi-channel campaigns and donor stewardship communications.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate annual donors into existing stewardship activities and cross-organizational communications.
  • Ensure the integration of monthly, tribute, and planned giving opportunities within the annual donor journey.
  • Manage the annual donor campaign and communications budget, monitoring revenue and expenses, and holding vendors accountable to established budgets.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the Specialist, Digital and Direct Response.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in direct response fundraising, preferably within a complex not-for-profit or healthcare organization.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Strong computer skills, with a high level of comfort working in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or other CRM software programs.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment in leading integrated multi-channel direct response campaigns, including a strong understanding of messaging, creative, testing methodologies, and data and segmentation strategies for mail, email, and online channels.
  • Experience overseeing external fundraising agencies and vendors in delivering high-volume, integrated fundraising campaigns.
  • Data-driven, with superior analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to synthesize data to drive insights and make recommendations for ongoing campaign and annual donor journey optimization.
  • Commitment to donor-centered fundraising principles, with a deep understanding of annual donor audiences and methods to retain donors and increase their lifetime value.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to set priorities and use sound judgment to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently.
  • Highly collaborative, with strong communication skills, and a talent for building relationships and working in cross-functional teams.
