Dietitian - Nutrition Care Specialist

Job Summary:
The Registered Dietitian will provide quality nutrition care and education for in-patients and their families. This role is responsible for providing nutrition services to various programs, including Complex Continuing Care, Rehabilitation, General Medicine and Surgery, Nephrology, Oncology, Maternal Child Services, Critical Care, Mental Health and Emergency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide quality nutrition care and education to in-patients and their families
- Contribute to program planning, implementation and evaluation in a multidisciplinary team setting
- Supervise nutrition students and dietetic interns
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree with a major in Food and Nutrition and successful completion of an accredited dietetic internship program or a recognized equivalent
- Eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Recent clinical experience in an inpatient setting preferred
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position and tasks including bending, turning, lifting, walking and standing for long periods of time
- Effective time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently as well as co-operatively with peers and multidisciplinary team members
- Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing education and learning
- Demonstrated effective teaching and counselling skills

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices
