About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst, Operational Finance will be responsible for providing financial planning, reporting, and month-end close support to Canadian operations. This includes plant operations, purchasing, supply chain, and contract manufacturing. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to provide strategic financial insights and support for optimal decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Budgeting and Reforecasting:
  • Support financial planning, contract manufacturing, and operational teams in budgeting and reforecasting processes.
  • Assist procurement teams in assessing the impact of raw material and packaging component cost changes.
Operational Finance:
  • Prepare supporting documents for inventory and production costs.
  • Suggest process improvements for the month-end close process.
Variance Analysis:
  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and yearly results compared to prior periods, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Provide explanations for variances and recommend improvement actions.
Stewardship of Working Capital:
  • Analyze inventory obsolescence and provide recommendations.
  • Partner with operational leaders to evaluate capital investments based on business cases and ROI assessments.
Requirements
  1. Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or in the process of obtaining the CPA designation.
  2. Minimum three years of accounting experience.
  3. Finance experience related to manufacturing and costing processes an asset.
  4. Strong business acumen and proven track record of delivering results.
  5. Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask.
  6. Team player with collaborative and dynamic working style.
  7. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
