Humber River Health is one of Canada's largest acute care hospitals, fully digital and serving a diverse catchment area of over 850,000 people in the northwest Greater Toronto Area.
We operate 722 acute inpatient beds with approximately 3,400 staff, about 700 physicians and over 1,000 volunteers. Our facilities include the Wilson site, a 656-bed full service acute care facility that opened in 2015, and the Finch and Church sites known as the 'Reactivation Centres' (RCC). We also have a 356-bed long-term care facility under construction at the Finch Avenue site.
Our vision of Exceptional Care, Healthier Community is something we share with our partners at the North Western Toronto Ontario Health Team. As Canada's first digital hospital and home of the first Patient Care Digital Command Centre, innovation remains at the core of our organization.
We value quality, safety and the patient experience above all else. Humber River Health recently received the Studer Group Award for Excellence in Canadian Patient Care and the Canadian Council of Health Service Executives Patient Safety Award.
Key objectives outlined in our 2021-23 Strategic Plan include:
- Developing targeted specialty programs responsive to community needs
- Establishing an HRH Digital Healthcare Research Institute
- Continuing long-term care facility development
- Establishing a comprehensive Medical Education Program
We expect all physicians to apply for an academic appointment in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Supporting medical learners is key to our success as an academic centre.
A diverse workforce representing the surrounding communities is a priority for us. We encourage applicants from equity-deserving groups, including Indigenous peoples, racialized individuals, seniors, people living with disabilities, women and those identifying as 2SLGBTQ.
Discrimination based on race, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, religion, disability, medical condition or any protected category is prohibited.
Acknowledging accommodations are available throughout the recruitment process and employment with us.
Salary: $CAD 180,000 - $200,000 per annum
