Overview:

At Matthews International, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Visual Design Strategist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your creative expertise and drive business growth through innovative design solutions.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have 6+ years of progressive design experience, with a strong portfolio that showcases their ability to translate design concepts into visual reality. They will be responsible for developing and implementing visual elements, creating presentations, moodboards, and proposals, and communicating project deliverables across the design team and production department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement visual design strategies that align with business objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand concept, timelines, objectives, and specifications
  • Create engaging presentations, moodboards, and proposals based on project scope
  • Present ideas, research, and trends during creative meetings and brainstorming sessions
  • Support the design team with technical problem-solving in the development of design elements and layouts
  • Recommend improvements in creative design concepts, tools, processes, and assigned tasks to management
  • Research, create, and manage content, photography, images, etc., for design projects
  • Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on market trends and new design developments
  • Act as an advisor to Jr. Designers through project deliverables

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Design, Advertising, Marketing, or related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive design experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Occasional travel locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required
  • Ability to provide a professional portfolio upon request
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications
  • Proficient with design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, QuarkXpress, etc.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management, and planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning)
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting

Physical Aspects/Work Environment:

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
  • Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low/moderate

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
