Job Summary

Kinectrics is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technologist to join our team in the Nuclear Equipment Solutions department. As a Technologist, you will be responsible for performing receipt inspection and testing using standard techniques and processes, preparing reports, and responding to customer inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with Kinectrics policies and procedures.
  • Conduct inspection of product and document on inspection forms, and preparation of shipments.
  • Perform basic inspection and tests using predominantly standard techniques; provide support in laboratory conducting inspections, quality control, etc.
  • Conduct testing and assembly/packaging of components/equipment.
  • Assist with and sometimes design, assemble and maintain equipment, processes, systems and development of test methods.
  • Participate in the analysis of test results and data by use of standard software packages.
  • Write reports of a predominantly routine nature.
  • Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by following good quality and safety practices in all aspects of the work performed.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
  • Perform routine processes and duties such as shipping, receiving, inventory control, housekeeping, etc.
  • Frequent travel to and work at customer sites in Canada and on occasion internationally.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Completion of College diploma in technical studies or equivalent.
  • Up to 5 years related experience of receiving, shipping, etc.
  • Experience or willingness to learn safe use of crane, forklift, etc.
  • Experience using modern test equipment and instrumentation.
  • Good computer skills for data acquisition and analysis.
  • Good knowledge of QA principles and safety practices.
  • High level of initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be granted nuclear site security clearance.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills in order to work co-operatively with staff and clients.
