We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Mentor to join our team at Royal Canadian Christian School. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

The Academic Mentor will be responsible for teaching high school students and developing engaging lesson plans to promote their academic success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Responsibilities
  • Teach High School Subjects: Develop and deliver lesson plans to teach various high school subjects, including math, science, language arts, and social studies.
  • Support Student Success: Provide one-on-one support to students who require extra help, identify areas where students need improvement, and develop strategies to address these needs.
  • Communicate with Parents and Colleagues: Maintain open lines of communication with parents and colleagues to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Participate in Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in education and to improve teaching skills.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a teacher or tutor.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues; strong organizational and time management skills.
