About the Role

The Configuration Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that all configuration management functions are maintained in accordance with contractual requirements, industry standards, and quality assurance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze proposed changes to ensure compliance with configuration management requirements
  • Perform impact analysis to identify affected projects and customers
  • Develop and implement change management plans to ensure smooth transitions
  • Facilitate configuration management boards to ensure effective communication and decision-making
  • Ensure accurate traceability of product configurations and revise as-built records as necessary
  • Assess and approve requests for variances to ensure compliance with configuration management requirements
  • Collaborate with internal customers to coordinate priorities and provide guidance on configuration management processes
Requirements
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation and product structures
  • Ability to create and manage detailed project schedules
  • Independent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team
Desired Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience in configuration management
  • Graduate degree and minimum 2 years of prior related experience in configuration management
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum 8 years of prior related experience in configuration management
  • Complete understanding and application of configuration management functions and principles
  • CMII or CMPIC certification or other configuration management-related certification an asset
