About the Role

The Configuration Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that all configuration management functions are maintained in accordance with contractual requirements, industry standards, and quality assurance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review and analyze proposed changes to ensure that they meet contractual requirements and industry standards.
  2. Perform impact analysis to identify affected projects and customers.
  3. Develop and implement change management plans to ensure smooth transitions.
  4. Facilitate configuration management boards to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  5. Ensure accurate traceability of product configurations and revise as-built records as necessary.
  6. Assess and approve requests for variances to ensure that they meet configuration management requirements.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies related to serialization between PLM and ERP systems.
  8. Provide guidance and support to internal customers on configuration management processes and concepts.
Requirements
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation and product structures.
  • Ability to create and manage detailed project schedules.
  • Independent judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.
  • High level of self-motivation, initiative, and tenacity.
  • Working knowledge of automated configuration management tools.
Desired Education and Experience
  • Requires proficient knowledge of job area and may have practical knowledge of project management.
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience in configuration management, or
  • Graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience in configuration management, or
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in configuration management.
  • Complete understanding and application of configuration management functions and principles.
  • CMII or CMPIC certification or other configuration management-related certification an asset.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Program clearance.
