Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers to ensure professional, ethical, and efficient communication.
  • Manage procurement and expediting activities for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with company and project-specific procedures.
  • Supervise and develop procurement and expediting personnel to maintain optimum performance levels.
  • Ensure high service levels to all stakeholders.
  • Provide timely and accurate procurement and expediting reporting.
  • Encourage continuous improvement through productivity monitoring and process optimization.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of direct experience in project procurement, expediting, transport, and logistics in the mining and minerals industries.
  • Excellent communication skills, written, electronic, and verbal.
  • Sound knowledge of international and local procurement practices.
  • Sound knowledge of international and local tendering and contract laws, regulations, and practices.
  • Sound knowledge of international freight laws, regulations, and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with computerized procurement and logistics systems.
  • Demonstrated staff supervisory and development experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High-level negotiating skills.
  • Initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work without supervision.
  • High degree of professional ethics.
