Job Summary

The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to partner with classroom teachers in planning and implementing the kindergarten program within a Catholic school environment. This is a casual position, and the successful candidate will be required to work at various schools within the Board's jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with classroom teachers to plan and implement the kindergarten program
• Develop and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to support student learning and well-being
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma
• Member in good standing within the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators
• Valid Certificate in First Aid and CPR (preferred)
• Knowledge of The Ministry of Education Kindergarten Program 2016 and Growing Success - The Kindergarten Addendum 2016
• Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, and staff
• Understanding and commitment to confidentiality
• Proven ability to appropriately deal with classroom management, stressful, and emergency situations
• Minimum 2 years' experience working in an Early Learning setting
• Current, completed, and clear Vulnerable Sector check will be required prior to hiring
• Driver's license and own reliable transportation to travel to any school within the HWCDSB's jurisdiction (preferred)
