Electrical Equipment Technician

MEL is seeking an experienced Electrical Equipment Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment, including electric motors, transformers, and switchgear.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, as well as experience with troubleshooting and repair techniques. A trade certification in electrical or electromechanical work is required, and previous experience with motor winding and assembly is an asset.

The Electromechanical Winding Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are required, as the candidate will work closely with colleagues and management to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Testing and observing electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment
  • Winding, assembling, and installing various types of coils
  • Performing on-site servicing and repair
  • Testing and repairing or replacing faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
  • Testing repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance
