We are seeking a talented Pharmaceutical Research Scientist to join our innovative Life Sciences team in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in our cutting-edge research projects.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Performing sophisticated computational analyses to identify cell types, states, genes, and pathways associated with clinical outcomes using single-cell and bulk RNA-seq data.
  • Contributing to the creation of intuitive interfaces and comprehensive reports for exploring clinical, biomarker, and RNA-seq data.
  • Conducting integrative analyses of diverse data modalities to uncover associations with clinical outcomes and other relevant variables.
  • Engaging closely with computational and wet lab scientists, providing insights and contributing to ongoing research projects.
  • Offering your expertise to enhance research initiatives, participating in brainstorming sessions, and presenting findings at team and departmental meetings.
  • Helping drive innovation by developing and deploying new tools and methodologies to support research objectives.

Qualifications:

  • PhD (preferred) or M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in bioinformatics or computational biology, with a strong track record of data analysis and research contributions.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, Unix, and Git.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and analyzing both bulk and single-cell RNA-seq data.
  • Familiarity with single-cell analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience with R Shiny for app development and deployment.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial data and survival analysis methodologies.
