The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority is seeking a qualified Mental Health Therapist to provide services to students in our schools. As a contractor, you will work with students, parents, teachers, and community resources to provide individual and group interventions, crisis intervention, and support to help students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct clinical counseling to students, including intake assessments and treatment planning
- Offer crisis intervention and support to address various issues
- Work with students to understand their feelings, thinking patterns, and behaviors to build capacity to deal with emotions and life's challenges
- Strengthen students' ability to regulate their emotions and increase their capacity for learning
- Provide classroom presentations, workshops, and training
- Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, student supports, school administrators, and community resources
- Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW), or
- A Counsellor/Psychotherapist in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association
- Understanding of Denesuline language and culture is an asset
- Willingness to travel for a minimum of 4 days at a time
