Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a critical member of our community, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional nursing care and making a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents, adhering to established policies, physician orders, and resident care plans.
  • Ensure timely and accessible admissions, comprehensive orientations, and safe resident transfers and discharges.
  • Manage medications, narcotics, and protocols on assigned shifts, maintaining a safe and controlled environment.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet residents' physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs.
  • Respond to emergencies promptly, acting as the emergency manager until relieved by the ADOC, DOC, or Executive Director.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to support effective clinical care for all residents.
  • Participate in in-services and education of nursing team members and other departments as required.
  • Model professional nursing practices, adhering to the College of Nurses' guidelines and relevant provincial legislation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the BC College of Nursing Professionals (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Minimum of two years related clinical experience (experience in rehabilitation or long-term care nursing preferred).
  • Sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing, including activation, activity programs, nursing, and personnel administration.
  • Knowledgeable about the nursing process, developments, and current trends in the geriatric care field.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years related clinical experience (experience in rehabilitation or long-term care nursing preferred).
  • Certificate in gerontological nursing preferred.

Wage Leveling rate of pay: $55.91 per hour until such time that wage leveling ends, then the pay rate will reflect the collective agreement pay rates.
