- Control and Safekeeping of Medications: Ensure the secure storage and administration of medications, adhering to established protocols.
- Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Nursing Care: Conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivered to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of our residents.
- Respond to Emergencies: Act promptly and effectively in emergency situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and staff.
- Collaborate with Interprofessional Teams: Work closely with medical professionals, clinical specialists, and consultants to provide comprehensive care for our residents.
- Participate in In-Services and Education: Engage in ongoing education and training to enhance nursing skills and knowledge, as well as share expertise with colleagues.
- Act as a Role Model: Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to the standards of the College of Nurses in the applicable province, as well as relevant provincial legislation.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
- Registration: Current registration with the BC College of Nursing Professionals (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
- Experience: 2 years of palliative care experience and education preferred.
- Certifications: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing, including activation, activity programs, nursing, and personnel administration.
- Additional Requirements: All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
