Job Summary

The Call Centre Operator plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our patients and families. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and dispatching service requests, managing schedules, and maintaining effective communication with our nursing and call centre teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule non-urgent patient transport appointments with designated transport partners
  • Notify nursing and call centre team of any changes in schedules and delays
  • Manage and pull reports as per the manager's directive
  • Answer phones and email correspondence in a professional and courteous manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate active customer involvement, visibility, and open-mindedness
  • Offer professional service to facility staff, internal and external customers, and suppliers
  • Promote team orientation, effective communication, and accountability
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity
  • Coordinate and promote the effective operations of the daily office activities, including payroll input
  • Greet incoming calls using phone etiquette standards to accurately dispatch calls to designated service areas
  • Maintain effective hospital and facility relationships and communication to provide excellent quality of service
  • Comply with organization, department-specific, and Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Possess awareness of and willingness to learn about current regulatory agency and accreditation requirements and guidelines
  • Engage in ongoing learning and provide feedback on best practices
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education or experience in a comparable position preferred
  • Computer skills and proficient keyboarding with typing skills of 40 wpm essential (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Meditech, Internet, etc.)
  • Exposure to a computerized maintenance management system, including the generation of unscheduled and scheduled work orders
  • Experience in purchasing and supply chain management an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills, flexibility with shift changes, and ability to remain focused in high-stress situations
  • Extraordinary customer service transferable skills with both verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-directed and able to govern with minimal supervision
  • Versatility and reliability within a multi-disciplinary department
  • Healthcare environment experience and medical terminology an asset
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
