Our Home Living team is seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to provide professional support services in the homes of clients of all ages and stages of life.

Job Summary:

The Health Care Aide will provide personal care and support to clients in a community setting, working collaboratively with the client, family, and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement a plan of care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing patient care services as an unregulated worker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and support to clients in a community setting
  • Work collaboratively with the client, family, and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement a plan of care
  • Provide patient care services as an unregulated worker under the supervision of a RN, RPN, or LPN
  • Document pertinent information and care provision
  • Participate in relevant in-service education
Requirements:
  • Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support- Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP)
  • Communication and assessment skills
  • The ability to apply health and safety principles in delivering care to clients in the community
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in the health care field and work with older or chronically ill individuals
  • A Medication Assistance Certificate or prior experience in Medication Assistance
