Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Truck Operations Assistant to join our team at Velocity Truck Centres Canada. As a key member of our operations staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of our shops.

Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized shop environment, assisting technicians with tasks such as moving vehicles and tools, disposing of waste materials according to safety regulations, performing routine equipment checks, restocking supplies, and supporting work area setup and cleanup. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn new tasks are essential qualities for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop floor, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient operations.
- Assist technicians with basic tasks, such as moving vehicles, parts, and tools, to enhance productivity.
- Dispose of waste materials and hazardous substances according to established safety protocols and guidelines.
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on shop equipment to prevent breakdowns.
- Restock supplies and materials as needed to maintain inventory levels.
- Support the setup and cleanup of work areas to promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Class 5 License preferred for easier mobility around the shop premises.
- Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor due to the nature of tasks involved.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset to collaborate with colleagues.
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks to grow professionally.
Benefits and Salary
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
