Geotechnical Engineering Student Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineering student to join our team at Canadian Natural Resources Limited. As a Geotechnical Engineering student, you will have the opportunity to support the Geotechnical team in various aspects of geotechnical operations, including monitoring equipment, inspecting construction and operation, and liaising with consultants.
Key Responsibilities- Collate, synthesize, and perform quality control on geotechnical instrumentation data.
- Complete daily instrument monitoring reports.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly performance monitoring reports, figures, and presentations.
- Apply engineering principles to assess and solve geotechnical issues related to mine earth structures.
- Perform design calculations and modeling under the direction of an engineer.
- Manage communication with stakeholders.
- Assist engineers in producing technical deliverables, reports, and drawings (drafting and proofreading).
- Contribute to work standards, procedures, and guidelines for the QMS.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Civil, Geological Engineering, or software/computer engineering (preferred).
- Highly motivated individual with good communication and networking skills.
- Experience in Python, VBA coding, and SQL (considered an asset).
- Geotechnical Engineering courses and projects, previous engineering experience (considered an asset).
- A Class 5 driver's license and a relatively clean driver's abstract is required for this position. Ability to drive in the mine with no known restrictions.
- A pre-employment drug and alcohol test must be successfully completed.
