Job Opportunity: Geotechnical Engineering Student

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineering student to join our team at Canadian Natural Resources Limited. As a Geotechnical Engineering student, you will have the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading professionals and gain hands-on experience in geotechnical operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collate, synthesize, and perform quality control on geotechnical instrumentation data
  • Complete daily instrument monitoring reports
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly performance monitoring reports, figures, and presentations
  • Apply engineering principles to assess and solve geotechnical issues related to mine earth structures
  • Perform design calculations and modeling under the direction of an engineer
  • Manage communication with stakeholders
  • Assist engineers in producing technical deliverables, reports, and drawings (drafting and proofreading)
  • Contribute to work standards, procedures, and guidelines for the QMS
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Civil, Geological Engineering, or software/computer engineering (preferred)
  • Highly motivated individual with good communication and networking skills
  • Experience in Python, VBA coding, and SQL (considered an asset)
  • Geotechnical Engineering courses and projects, previous engineering experience (considered an asset)
  • A Class 5 driver's license and a relatively clean driver's abstract is required for this position. Ability to drive in the mine with no known restrictions.
  • A pre-employment drug and alcohol test must be successfully completed
