Job Title: Lawyer and Patent Agent - Chemistry

We are Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, a leading law firm in Canada, seeking a talented Lawyer and Patent Agent to join our Intellectual Property team. Our firm is committed to delivering exceptional client service and fostering a collaborative work environment.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and experience in drafting patent specifications and prosecuting patent applications in Canada and the US. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.

As a member of our IP team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including patent prosecution, trademark law, and intellectual property litigation. You will also have access to our firm's extensive resources and expertise, including our national IP group and our network of international partners.

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about intellectual property law and has a strong commitment to excellence. If you are a talented Lawyer and Patent Agent with a background in chemistry, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting patent specifications and prosecuting patent applications in Canada and the US
  • Providing advice on intellectual property law and strategy to clients
  • Working with colleagues and clients to resolve complex intellectual property issues
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in intellectual property law and regulations

Requirements:

  • Law degree and qualified Canadian Patent Agent
  • Advanced degree in chemistry
  • 3+ years experience in patent prosecution and intellectual property law
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
