Job Title: Dean, Graduate Studies

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the role of Dean, Graduate Studies. As a key member of the university's senior leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of graduate programs, as well as providing strategic direction and oversight for graduate education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of graduate programs, ensuring alignment with the university's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for graduate education, including program development, curriculum design, and faculty recruitment and development.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to promote graduate education and research, and to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and personnel to support graduate programs and initiatives.
  • Represent the university in various external forums, promoting graduate education and research, and building partnerships with industry, government, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
  • 5 years or more of experience in academic administration, preferably in a graduate studies role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate faculty and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, with a focus on student success and academic excellence.
