Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Plant Engineer to become a vital part of our window manufacturing operations.

  1. Serve as a technical advisor for both internal and external stakeholders regarding all Canadian window offerings; manage technical documentation; ensure the AMI technical center is updated with Canadian product specifications, including shape dimensions, drawing archives, and exploded views of products.
  2. Drive initiatives to enhance Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) at the home site and disseminate findings, data, and solutions across all facilities.
  3. Facilitate training sessions for team members on kaizen methodologies, principles, and tools; lead and implement Kaizen initiatives on the production floor, actively engaging with team members and processes.
  4. Establish and monitor all kaizen initiatives to meet defined targets using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) framework.
  5. Oversee projects by providing engineering specifications for new equipment and tooling to site personnel or vendors; maintain project schedules; consistently assess actual project expenses against budgeted figures to ensure projects remain within financial limits; supervise the installation and commissioning of new equipment or tooling.
  6. Examine production and maintenance data to pinpoint root causes of downtime and scrap, implementing irreversible corrective measures and ongoing improvement activities.
  7. Develop and apply tools aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes or extending tooling life cycles to ensure profitability, quality, and safety of plant outputs.
  8. Support manufacturing and continuous improvement teams with equipment or tooling-related challenges as necessary.
  9. Offer data-driven insights for capital optimization and manage capital projects effectively.
  10. Collaborate with corporate engineering and sales teams on new product development tailored for the Canadian market; authorize and document product modifications (such as ECN, PENC, etc.).
  11. Deliver technical training for maintenance and production personnel as required.
  12. Enhance and maintain documentation related to site production assets.
  13. Conduct capability assessments on both new and existing processes.
  14. Engage with key equipment and tooling suppliers.

- Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, and Product Engineering, along with other internal and external materials support providers.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an industrial engineering discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Process/Manufacturing engineering within a production environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with WCM or Lean Manufacturing practices, including Workplace Organization, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), VA/NVA analysis, 5S methodology, Visual Control, SMED, JIT, OEE, SWOT analysis, Poka-Yoke (error-proofing), line layout design, time study techniques, and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and equipment safety standards.
