We are seeking a skilled Materials Control and Laboratory Manager to join our team at Pomerleau, a national leader in the construction industry. As a key member of our Alternative Projects Center of Expertise, you will play a vital role in ensuring the traceability of materials incorporated into our work and planning on-site laboratory tests.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate on-site and factory laboratory tests, ensuring compliance with established standards and frequencies specified in the contract.
  • Maintain calibration and verification records for measuring instruments, guaranteeing accuracy and precision.
  • Implement and monitor material quality control procedures, ensuring conformity of results and identifying non-conformities or deviations from technical specifications.
  • Submit laboratory deliverables, including test reports, analyses, and statistics, to customer representatives in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with technical and construction teams to ensure the quality of materials supplied by subcontractors.
  • Maintain an up-to-date register of materials delivered, including proofs and supporting documents.
  • Record the results of tests and inspections carried out on materials, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Coordinate expert reports required to close non-conformities, ensuring seamless communication and resolution.

Your Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in construction and materials quality control on construction projects.
  • Mastery of material testing standards, including concrete, steel, aggregates, and other relevant areas.
  • Excellent work organization skills, with the ability to identify priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Honored leadership skills, with the ability to establish and maintain harmonious interpersonal relations.
  • Fluency in French, both written and oral.
