Key Responsibilities:

As a Materials Control and Laboratory Manager at Pomerleau, you will play a critical role in ensuring the traceability of materials used in our projects and planning on-site laboratory tests. You will work on large-scale construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring that materials comply with established standards and that resources are properly mobilized to cover all testing and control activities.

Key Tasks:

  • Plan and coordinate on-site and factory laboratory tests.
  • Ensure that tests are carried out in accordance with the standards and frequencies specified in the contract.
  • Maintain calibration and verification records for measuring instruments.
  • Implement and monitor material quality control procedures, ensuring conformity of results.
  • Identify and report any non-conformities or deviations from technical specifications.
  • Submit laboratory deliverables (test reports, analyses, statistics) to customer representatives on time.
  • Ensure the quality of materials supplied by subcontractors with the help of technical and construction teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date registers of materials delivered, including proofs and supporting documents.
  • Record the results of tests and inspections carried out on materials.
  • Coordinate expert reports required to close non-conformities.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in construction and materials quality control on construction projects.
  • Mastery of material testing standards (concrete, steel, aggregates, etc.).
  • Good work organization skills, identifying priorities and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ability to communicate in a way that is clearly understood, using quality oral and written language.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious interpersonal relations.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Fluency in French written and oral.
  • Good synthesis and analysis skills.
