Job Title: Materials Control and Laboratory Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Control and Laboratory Manager to join our team at Pomerleau. As a key member of our Alternative Projects Center of Expertise, you will play a critical role in ensuring the traceability of materials incorporated into our projects and planning on-site laboratory tests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate on-site and factory laboratory tests to ensure compliance with established standards and frequencies.
  • Maintain calibration and verification records for measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Implement and monitor material quality control procedures to ensure conformity of results.
  • Identify and report any non-conformities or deviations from technical specifications.
  • Submit laboratory deliverables (test reports, analyses, statistics) to customer representatives on time.
  • Ensure the quality of materials supplied by subcontractors with the help of technical and construction teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date registers of materials delivered, including proofs and supporting documents.
  • Record the results of tests and inspections carried out on materials.
  • Coordinate expert reports required to close non-conformities.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in construction and materials quality control on construction projects.
  • Mastery of material testing standards (concrete, steel, aggregates, etc.).
  • Good work organization skills, identifying priorities and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ability to communicate in a way that is clearly understood, using quality oral and written language.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious interpersonal relations.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Fluency in French written and oral.
  • Good synthesis and analysis skills.
