Job Title: Cashier (Part-time)

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Cashier to join our team at Giant Tiger. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating electronic cash registers, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high level of customer service at the checkouts
  • Accurately record customer transactions in electronic cash registers
  • Replenish merchandise around the checkout area
  • Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed
  • Ensure Loss prevention best practices are followed
  • Ensure compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery

Requirements:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions:

A typical part-time schedule will be a mix of days, evenings and weekends, up to 24 hours weekly.

While performing the duties of this job, you can expect to:

  • Stand and/or walk
  • Bend, twist, and squat
  • Lift and/or move up to 18 kg (40 lbs.)
  • Perform tasks involving firm grasping
  • Perform repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand motions
  • Reach above shoulder height and below waist level
  • Operate equipment, including using a ladder

Additional Responsibilities:

As a Keyholder, you will be responsible for opening and closing the store on an ad hoc basis, ensuring all areas are tidy, and ensuring all Associates have completed their end of shift tasks.

As an Employee Universal Accountability, you will ensure a high level of customer service, ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed, ensure Loss prevention best practices are followed, and ensure compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery.
