Our client, a construction management services company servicing Toronto and surrounding regions, is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to join their growing team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for directing and supervising activities at various project and site locations, ensuring seamless execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with Project Managers to plan material staging, storage facilities, site offices, construction access points, craning access, emergency travel routes, and other operational requirements.
  • Gain a detailed understanding of the general scope of work, contract terms, and obligations to satisfy the contract.
  • Forecast required forces and materials for site activities performed by in-house teams.
  • Collaborate with Project Coordinators to ensure all regulatory postings and documentation are maintained and updated on site.
  • Establish and maintain first aid kits, emergency evacuation plans, and other site-specific requirements.
  • Meet with stakeholders to understand facility requirements, protocols, and communication channels for coordinating deliveries, after-hours work, etc.
  • Organize kick-off meetings with subcontractors and suppliers to outline safety requirements, lunch & break protocols, review schedules, and conduct site tours.
  • Ensure subcontractors provide necessary documentation, receive project safety orientation, and verify worker training certifications.
  • Verify site layout and building designs as work progresses, documenting discrepancies for resolution.
  • Host weekly Foreman Meetings to collect concerns, schedule input, urgent questions, delays, etc.
  • Conduct daily inspections to monitor workmanship, installation details, and conformance to contract documents.
  • Coordinate and schedule inspections by Municipal Inspectors, Engineers, Architects, 3rd Party Consultants, Owners, ESA, TSSA, and other governing authorities.
  • Schedule labour, equipment, and operating forces in advance for site activities performed by in-house teams.
  • Work with Project Managers to establish inspection reports for permit closures and O&M manual documents for Owners.
  • Schedule required inspections for permit closures and obtain inspection reports.
  • Meet with stakeholders to establish equipment commissioning and Owner training requirements.
  • Schedule subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers for equipment commissioning and training.
  • Obtain reports of commissioning activities and record Owner training attendance.
  • Schedule de-mobilization of washroom, office, and storage facilities.
  • Ensure post-construction site conditions meet or exceed pre-construction conditions, satisfying Owners and/or Landlords.

About You:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in construction as a Site Supervisor or equivalent role.
  • Proven track record in leadership roles, with strong decision-making and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Fast-learner with proven problem-solving skills.
